Jesus Christ in the Old Testament (OT) :

(Isaiah9:6) For a CHILD IS BORN to us, and a son is given to us, and the government is upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, God the Mighty, the Father of the world to come, the Prince of Peace.

(Isaiah40:3) The voice of one crying in the desert: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the wilderness the paths of our God.

(Isaiah48:16) Come ye near unto me, and hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: from the time before it was done, I was there, and now the Lord God hath sent me, and his spirit.

Jesus Christ in the New Testament (NT) :

(Matthew1:23) Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

(John1:1-3) IN the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him: and without him was made nothing that was made.

(John8:58) Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you, before Abraham was made, I am.

(John10:30) I and the Father are one.

(John10:38) But if I do, though you will not believe me, believe the works: that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

(John14:8-9) Philip saith to him: Lord, shew us the Father, and it is enough for us. Jesus saith to him: Have I been so long a time with you; and have you not known me? Philip, he that seeth me seeth the Father also. How sayest thou, Shew us the Father?

(John20:27-28) Then he saith to Thomas: Put in thy finger hither, and see my hands; and bring hither thy hand, and put it into my side; and be not faithless, but believing. Thomas answered, and said to him: My Lord, and my God.

(Philippians2:5-8) For let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. - MESSIANIC PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST -

The Old Testament (OT) was written hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth.
The New Testament (NT) was written after Jesus' death and resurrection.

Born of a Virgin

Prophesied:
(Isaiah7:14 OT) Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew1:18 NT) Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.

Born in Bethlehem

Prophesied:
(Micah5:2 OT) AND THOU, BETHLEHEM Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda: out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew2:1 NT) WHEN Jesus therefore was born in Bethlehem of Juda, in the days of king Herod, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.

Massacre of the infants of Bethlehem

Prophesied:
(Jeremiah31:15 OT) Thus saith the Lord: A voice was heard on high of lamentation, of mourning, and weeping, of Rachel weeping for her children, and refusing to be comforted for them, because they are not.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew2:16 NT) Then Herod perceiving that he was deluded by the wise men, was exceeding angry; and sending killed all the men children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the borders thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

Flight into Egypt

Prophesied:
(Hosea11:1 OT) As the morning passeth, so hath the king of Israel Israel was a child, and I loved him: and I called my son out of Egypt.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew2:14-15 NT) Who arose, and took the child and his mother by night, and retired into Egypt: and he was there until the death of Herod: That it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: Out of Egypt have I called my son.

He spoke in parables

Prophesied:
(Psalms78:2 OT) I will open my mouth in parables: I will utter propositions from the beginning.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew13:34 NT) All these things Jesus spoke in parables to the multitudes: and without parables he did not speak to them.

Rejected by men

Prophesied:
(Isaiah53:3 OT) Despised, and the most abject of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with infirmity: and his look was as it were hidden and despised, whereupon we esteemed him not.

(Zechariah13:7 OT) Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that cleaveth to me, saith the Lord of hosts: strike the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn my hand to the little ones.

Fulfilled:
(John1:11 NT) He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

(Matthew26:31 NT) Then Jesus said to them: All you shall be scandalized in me this night. For it is written: I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be dispersed.

He entered Jerusalem on a colt

Prophesied:
(Zechariah9:9 OT) Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Sion, shout for joy, O daughter of Jerusalem: BEHOLD THY KING will come to thee, the just and saviour: he is poor, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Fulfilled:
(Luke19:32-38 NT) And they that were sent, went their way, and found the colt standing, as he had said unto them. And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said to them: Why loose you the colt? But they said: Because the Lord hath need of him. And they brought him to Jesus. And casting their garments on the colt, they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes underneath in the way. And when he was now coming near the descent of mount Olivet, the whole multitude of his disciples began with joy to praise God with a loud voice, for all the mighty works they had seen, Saying: Blessed be the king who cometh in the name of the Lord, peace in heaven, and glory on high!

Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver

Prophesied:
(Zechariah11:12 OT) And I said to them: If it be good in your eyes, bring hither my wages: and if not, be quiet. And they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew26:15 NT) And said to them: What will you give me, and I will deliver him unto you? But they appointed him thirty pieces of silver.

30 pieces of silver used to buy the potter's field

Prophesied:
(Zechariah11:13 OT) And the Lord said to me: Cast it to the statuary, a handsome price, that I was prized at by them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and I cast them into the house of the Lord to the statuary.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew27:6-7 NT) But the chief priests having taken the pieces of silver, said: It is not lawful to put them into the corbona, because it is the price of blood. And after they had consulted together, they bought with them the potter's field, to be a burying place for strangers.

Accused by false witnesses

Prophesied:
(Psalms27:12 OT) Deliver me not over to the will of them that trouble me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me; and iniquity hath lied to itself.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew26:59-60 NT) And the chief priests and the whole council sought false witness against Jesus, that they might put him to death: And they found not, whereas many false witnesses had come in. And last of all there came two false witnesses:

Silent before His accusers

Prophesied:
(Isaiah53:7 OT) He was offered because it was his own will, and he opened not his mouth: he shall be led as a sheep to the slaughter, and shall be dumb as a lamb before his shearer, and he shall not open his mouth.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew27:12-14 NT) And when he was accused by the chief priests and ancients, he answered nothing. Then Pilate saith to him: Dost not thou hear how great testimonies they allege against thee? And he answered him to never a word; so that the governor wondered exceedingly.

Beaten and spat upon

Prophesied:
(Isaiah50:6 OT) I have given my body to the strikers, and my cheeks to them that plucked them: I have not turned away my face from them that rebuked me, and spit upon me.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew26:67 NT) Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him: and others struck his face with the palms of their hands,

(Matthew27:30 NT) And spitting upon him, they took the reed, and struck his head.

Numbered with transgressors

Prophesied:
(Isaiah53:12 OT) Therefore will I distribute to him very many, and he shall divide the spoils of the strong, because he hath delivered his soul unto death, and was reputed with the wicked: and he hath borne the sins of many, and hath prayed for the transgressors.

Fulfilled:
(Mark15:27-28 NT) And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left. And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith: And with the wicked he was reputed.

Pierced

Prophesied:
(Psalms22:16 OT) For many dogs have encompassed me: the council of the malignant hath besieged me. They have dug my hands and feet.

(Isaiah53:5 OT) But he was wounded for our iniquities, he was bruised for our sins: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed.

(Zechariah12:10 OT) And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn.

Fulfilled:

Mocked and insulted

Prophesied:
(Psalms22:7-8 OT) All they that saw me have laughed me to scorn: they have spoken with the lips, and wagged the head. He hoped in the Lord, let him deliver him: let him save him, seeing he delighteth in him.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew27:39-43 NT) And they that passed by, blasphemed him, wagging their heads, And saying: Vah, thou that destroyest the temple of God, and in three days dost rebuild it: save thy own self: if thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross. In like manner also the chief priests, with the scribes and ancients, mocking, said: He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God; let him now deliver him if he will have him; for he said: I am the Son of God.

Given gall and vinegar

Prophesied:
(Psalms69:21 OT) And they gave me gall for my food, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

Fulfilled:
(Matthew27:34 NT) And they gave him wine to drink mingled with gall. And when he had tasted, he would not drink.

(John19:29 NT) Now there was a vessel set there full of vinegar. And they, putting a sponge full of vinegar and hyssop, put it to his mouth.

They parted His garments among them

Prophesied:
(Psalms22:18 OT) They parted my garments amongst them; and upon my vesture they cast lots.

Fulfilled:
(John19:23-24 NT) The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified him, took his garments, (and they made four parts, to every soldier a part,) and also his coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. They said then one to another: Let us not cut it, but let us cast lots for it, whose it shall be; that the scripture might be fulfilled, saying: They have parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture they have cast lot. And the soldiers indeed did these things.

Resurrected

Prophesied:
(Psalms16:10 OT) Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor wilt then give thy holy one to see corruption.

Fulfilled:
(Mark16:6-7 NT) Who saith to them: Be not affrighted; you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee; there you shall see him, as he told you.
