1EN: The former indeed had also justifications of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
1FR: La première alliance avait aussi ses règlements relatifs au culte, et un sanctuaire terrestre.
2EN: For there was a tabernacle made the first, wherein were the candlesticks, and the table, and the setting forth of loaves, which is called the holy.
2FR: En effet, on a construit un tabernacle, avec une partie intérieure, appelée le lieu saint, où étaient le chandelier, la table et les pains de proposition.
3EN: And after the second veil, the tabernacle, which is called the holy of holies:
3FR: Derrière le second voile, se trouvait la partie du tabernacle appelée le Saint des saints, ayant un autel d’or pour les parfums et l’arche de l’alliance toute recouverte d’or.
4EN: Having a golden censer, and the ark of the testament covered about on every part with gold, in which was a golden pot that had manna, and the rod of Aaron, that had blossomed, and the tables of the testament.
4FR: Dans l’arche se trouvait une urne d’or renfermant la manne, la verge d’Aaron qui avait fleuri, et les tables de l’alliance.
5EN: And over it were the cherubims of glory overshadowing the propitiatory: of which it is not needful to speak now particularly.
5FR: Au dessus étaient des chérubins de la gloire, couvrant de leur ombre le propitiatoire. Mais ce n’est pas ici le lieu de parler sur ce sujet en détail.
6EN: Now these things being thus ordered, into the first tabernacle the priests indeed always entered, accomplishing the offices of sacrifices.
6FR: Or, ces choses étant ainsi disposées, les prêtres entrent en tout temps dans la partie antérieure du tabernacle, lorsqu’ils font le service du culte ;
7EN: But into the second, the high priest alone, once a year: not without blood, which he offereth for his own, and the people's ignorance:
7FR: le grand prêtre seul, une seule fois l’année, entre dans la seconde partie, mais avec du sang qu’il offre pour lui-même et pour les péchés du peuple.
8EN: The Holy Ghost signifying this, that the way into the holies was not yet made manifest, whilst the former tabernacle was yet standing.
8FR: L’Esprit-Saint montre par là que le chemin du Saint des Saints n’a pas encore été ouvert, tant que subsiste le premier tabernacle.
9EN: Which is a parable of the time present: according to which gifts and sacrifices are offered, which can not, as to the conscience, make him perfect that serveth, only in meats and in drinks,
9FR: C’est une figure qui a rapport au temps présent ; elle signifie que les oblations et les sacrifices offerts ne peuvent amener à la perfection, au point de vue de la conscience, celui qui rend ce culte.
10EN: And divers washings, and justices of the flesh laid on them until the time of correction.
10FR: Car avec les prescriptions relatives aux aliments, aux boissons et aux diverses ablutions, ce ne sont que des ordonnances charnelles, imposées seulement jusqu’à une époque de réformation.
11EN: But Christ, being come an high priest of the good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hand, that is, not of this creation:
11FR: Mais le Christ ayant paru comme grand prêtre des biens à venir, c’est en passant par un tabernacle plus excellent et plus parfait, qui n’est pas construit de main d’homme, c’est-à-dire, qui n’appartient pas à cette création-ci
12EN: Neither by the blood of goats, or of calves, but by his own blood, entered once into the holies, having obtained eternal redemption.
12FR: et ce n’est pas avec le sang des boucs et des taureaux, mais avec son propre sang, qu’il est entré une fois pour toutes dans le saint des Saints, après avoir acquis une rédemption éternelle.
13EN: For if the blood of goats and of oxen, and the ashes of an heifer being sprinkled, sanctify such as are defiled, to the cleansing of the flesh:
13FR: Car si le sang des boucs et des taureaux, si la cendre d’une vache, dont on asperge ceux qui sont souillés, sanctifient de manière à procurer la pureté de la chair,
14EN: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?
14FR: combien plus le sang du Christ qui, par l’Esprit éternel, s’est offert lui-même sans tache à Dieu, purifiera-t-il notre conscience des œuvres mortes, pour servir le Dieu vivant ?
15EN: And therefore he is the mediator of the new testament: that by means of his death, for the redemption of those trangressions, which were under the former testament, they that are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
15FR: Et c’est pour cela qu’il est médiateur d’une nouvelle alliance, afin que, sa mort ayant eu lieu pour le pardon des transgressions commises sous la premiers alliance, ceux qui ont été appelés reçoivent l’héritage éternel qui leur a été promis.
16EN: For where there is a testament, the death of the testator must of necessity come in.
16FR: Car, là où il y a un testament, il est nécessaire que la mort du testateur intervienne ;
17EN: For a testament is of force, after men are dead: otherwise it is as yet of no strength, whilst the testator liveth.
17FR: parce qu’un testament n’a son effet qu’en cas de mort, étant sans force lorsque le testateur est en vie.
18EN: Whereupon neither was the first indeed dedicated without blood.
18FR: Voilà pourquoi même la première alliance n’a pas été inaugurée sans effusion de sang.
19EN: For when every commandment of the law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
19FR: Moïse, après avoir proclamé devant tout le peuple tous les commandements selon la teneur de la Loi, prit le sang des taureaux et des boucs, avec de l’eau, de la laine écarlate et de l’hysope, et il fit l’aspersion sur le Livre lui-même et sur tout le peuple, en disant :
20EN: Saying: This is the blood of the testament, which God hath enjoined unto you.
20FR: " Voici le sang de l’alliance que Dieu a contractée avec vous.
21EN: The tabernacle also and all the vessels of the ministry, in like manner, he sprinkled with blood.
21FR: " Il aspergea de même avec le sang le tabernacle et tous les ustensiles du culte.
22EN: And almost all things, according to the law, are cleansed with blood: and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
22FR: Et d’après la Loi, presque tout se purifie avec du sang ; et sans effusion de sang il n’y a pas de rémission.
23EN: It is necessary therefore that the patterns of heavenly things should be cleansed with these: but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
23FR: Puisque les images des choses qui sont dans les cieux devaient être purifiées de cette manière, il était donc nécessaire que les choses célestes elles-mêmes fussent inaugurées par des sacrifices supérieurs à ceux-là.
24EN: For Jesus is not entered into the holies made with hands, the patterns of the true: but into heaven itself, that he may appear now in the presence of God for us.
24FR: Car ce n’est pas dans un sanctuaire fait de main d’homme, image du véritable, que le Christ est entré : mais il est entré dans le ciel même, afin de se tenir désormais pour nous présent devant la face de Dieu.
25EN: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holies, every year with the blood of others:
25FR: Et ce n’est pas pour s’offrir lui-même plusieurs fois, comme le grand prêtre entre chaque année dans le sanctuaire avec un sang qui n’est pas le sien :
26EN: For then he ought to have suffered often from the beginning of the world: but now once at the end of ages, he hath appeared for the destruction of sin, by the sacrifice of himself.
26FR: autrement il aurait dû souffrir plusieurs fois depuis la fondation du monde ; mais il s’est montré une seule fois, dans les derniers âges, pour abolir le péché par son sacrifice.
27EN: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment:
27FR: Et comme il est arrêté que les hommes meurent une seule fois, après quoi vient le jugement,
28EN: So also Christ was offered once to exhaust the sins of many; the second time he shall appear without sin to them that expect him unto salvation.
28FR: ainsi le Christ, après s’être offert une seule fois pour ôter les péchés de la multitude, apparaîtra une seconde fois, sans péché, pour donner le salut à ceux qui l’attendent.
