1EN: Brethren, and if a man be overtaken in any fault, you, who are spiritual, instruct such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
1FR: Frères, lors même qu’un homme se serait laissé surprendre à quelque faute, vous qui êtes spirituels, redressez-le avec un esprit de douceur, prenant garde à vous-mêmes, de peur que vous ne tombiez aussi en tentation.
2EN: Bear ye one another's burdens; and so you shall fulfil the law of Christ.
2FR: Portez les fardeaux les uns des autres, et vous accomplirez ainsi la parole du Christ ;
3EN: For if any man think himself to be some thing, whereas he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
3FR: car si quelqu’un croit être quelque chose, alors qu’il n’est rien, il s’abuse lui-même.
4EN: But let every one prove his own work, and so he shall have glory in himself only, and not in another.
4FR: Que chacun examine ses propres œuvres, et alors il aura sujet de se glorifier pour lui seul, et non en se comparant à autrui ;
5EN: For every one shall bear his own burden.
5FR: car chacun aura son propre fardeau à porter.
6EN: And let him that is instructed in the word, communicate to him that instructeth him, in all good things.
6FR: Que celui à qui on enseigne la parole fasse part de tous ses biens à celui qui l’enseigne.
7EN: Be not deceived, God is not mocked.
7FR: Ne vous y trompez pas : on ne se rit pas de Dieu. Ce qu’on aura semé, on le moissonnera.
8EN: For what things a man shall sow, those also shall he reap. For he that soweth in his flesh, of the flesh also shall reap corruption. But he that soweth in the spirit, of the spirit shall reap life everlasting.
8FR: Celui qui sème dans sa chair moissonnera, de la chair, la corruption ; celui qui sème dans l’esprit moissonnera, de l’esprit, la vie éternelle.
9EN: And in doing good, let us not fail. For in due time we shall reap, not failing.
9FR: Ne nous lassons point de faire le bien ; car nous moissonnerons en son temps, si nous ne nous relâchons pas.
10EN: Therefore, whilst we have time, let us work good to all men, but especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
10FR: Ainsi donc, pendant que nous en avons le temps, faisons le bien envers tous, et surtout envers les frères dans la foi.
11EN: See what a letter I have written to you with my own hand.
11FR: Voyez quelles lettres j’ai tracées pour vous de ma propre main !
12EN: For as many as desire to please in the flesh, they constrain you to be circumcised, only that they may not suffer the persecution of the cross of Christ.
12FR: Tous ceux qui veulent gagner les bonnes grâces des hommes, ce sont ceux-là qui vous contraignent à vous faire circoncire, à l’unique fin de n’être pas persécutés pour la croix du Christ.
13EN: For neither they themselves who are circumcised, keep the law; but they will have you to be circumcised, that they may glory in your flesh.
13FR: Car ces circoncis, n’observent pas eux-mêmes la Loi ; mais ils veulent que vous receviez la circoncision, afin de se glorifier en votre chair.
14EN: But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ; by whom the world is crucified to me, and I to the world.
14FR: — Pour moi, Dieu me garde de me glorifier, si ce n’est dans la croix de Notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, par qui le monde est crucifié pour moi, comme je le suis pour le monde !
15EN: For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.
15FR: Car [en Jésus-Christ] la circoncision n’est rien, l’incirconcision n’est rien ; ce qui est, tout, c’est d’être une nouvelle créature.
16EN: And whosoever shall follow this rule, peace on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
16FR: Paix et miséricorde sur tous ceux qui suivront cette règle, et sur l’Israël de Dieu !
17EN: From henceforth let no man be troublesome to me; for I bear the marks of the Lord Jesus in my body.
17FR: Au reste, que personne désormais ne me suscite plus d’embarras ; car je porte sur mon corps les stigmates de Jésus.
18EN: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.
18FR: Frères, que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit ! Amen !
