1EN: AND when the days of the Pentecost were accomplished, they were all together in one place:
1FR: Comme le jour de la Pentecôte était arrivé, ils étaient tous ensemble au même (lieu).
2EN: And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
2FR: Tout à coup, il vint du ciel un bruit comme celui d’un violent coup de vent, qui remplit toute la maison où ils étaient assis.
3EN: And there appeared to them parted tongues as it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them:
3FR: Et ils virent paraître des langues séparées, comme de feu ; et il s’en posa (une) sur chacun d’eux.
4EN: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak with divers tongues, according as the Holy Ghost gave them to speak.
4FR: Et tous furent remplis d’Esprit-Saint, et ils se mirent à parler en d’autres langues, selon ce que l’Esprit leur donnait de proférer.
5EN: Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
5FR: Or il y avait, séjournant à Jérusalem, des Juifs, hommes pieux de toutes les nations qui sont sous le ciel.
6EN: And when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded in mind, because that every man heard them speak in his own tongue.
6FR: Ce bruit s’étant produit, la foule s’assembla et fut bouleversée, parce que chacun les entendait parler en sa propre langue.
7EN: And they were all amazed, and wondered, saying: Behold, are not all these, that speak, Galileans?
7FR: Ils étaient stupéfaits et s’étonnaient, disant : « Tous ces gens qui parlent, ne sont-ils pas des Galiléens ?
8EN: And how have we heard, every man our own tongue wherein we were born?
8FR: Comment donc les entendons-nous chacun dans notre propre langue maternelle ?
9EN: Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and inhabitants of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
9FR: Partes, Mèdes, Elamites, habitants de la Mésopotamie, de la Judée et de la Cappadoce, du Pont et de l’Asie,
10EN: Phrygia, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome,
10FR: de la Phrygie et de la Pamphylie, de l’Égypte et des contrées de la Lybie Cyrénaïque, Romains résidant (ici),
11EN: Jews also, and proselytes, Cretes, and Arabians: we have heard them speak in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.
11FR: tant Juifs que prosélytes, Crétois et Arabes, nous les entendons dire dans nos langues les merveilles de Dieu. »
12EN: And they were all astonished, and wondered, saying one to another: What meaneth this?
12FR: Ils étaient tous stupéfaits et ne savaient que penser, se disant l’un à l’autre : « Qu’est-ce que cela peut bien être ? »
13EN: But others mocking, said: These men are full of new wine.
13FR: Mais d’autres disaient en se moquant : « Ils sont pleins de vin doux. »
14EN: But Peter standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke to them: Ye men of Judea, and all you that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known to you, and with your ears receive my words.
14FR: Or Pierre, se présentant avec les Onze, éleva la voix et leur déclara : « Juifs, et (vous) tous qui séjournez à Jérusalem, sachez bien ceci, et prêtez l’oreille à mes paroles.
15EN: For these are not drunk, as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day:
15FR: Ces hommes en effet ne sont point ivres, comme vous le supposez, car c’est la troisième heure du jour.
16EN: But this is that which was spoken of by the prophet Joel:
16FR: Mais c’est ce qui a été dit par le prophète Joël :
17EN: And it shall come to pass, in the last days, (saith the Lord,) I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.
17FR: Il arrivera dans les derniers jours, dit Dieu, que je répandrai de mon Esprit sur toute chair, et vos fils et vos filles prophétiseront, et vos jeunes gens auront des visions, et vos vieillards auront des songes.
18EN: And upon my servants indeed, and upon my handmaids will I pour out in those days of my spirit, and they shall prophesy.
18FR: Oui, en ces jours-là, je répandrai de mon Esprit sur mes serviteurs et sur mes servantes, et ils prophétiseront.
19EN: And I will shew wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth beneath: blood and fire, and vapour of smoke.
19FR: Et je ferai paraître des prodiges en haut dans le ciel, et des signes en bas sur la terre : du sang, du feu, de la fumée en éruption ;
20EN: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord come.
20FR: le soleil se changera en ténèbres, et la lune en sang, avant que vienne le jour du Seigneur, le (jour) grand et éclatant.
21EN: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved.
21FR: Alors quiconque invoquera le nom du Seigneur sera sauvé.
22EN: Ye men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you, by miracles, and wonders, and signs, which God did by him, in the midst of you, as you also know:
22FR: Israélites, écoutez ces paroles : Jésus de Nazareth, homme que Dieu a accrédité auprès de vous par les miracles, les prodiges et les signes que Dieu a faits par lui au milieu de vous, comme vous le savez vous-mêmes ;
23EN: This same being delivered up, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you by the hands of wicked men have crucified and slain.
23FR: lui, livré selon le dessein arrêté et la prescience de Dieu, que vous avez fait mourir en le crucifiant par la main des impies,
24EN: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that he should be holden by it.
24FR: Dieu l’a ressuscité, déliant les liens de la mort, parce qu’il n’était pas possible qu’elle le tînt en son pouvoir.
25EN: For David saith concerning him: I foresaw the Lord before my face: because he is at my right hand, that I may not be moved.
25FR: David, en effet, dit à son sujet : Je voyais, continuellement le Seigneur devant moi, parce qu’il est à ma droite, afin que je ne sois point ébranlé.
26EN: For this my heart hath been glad, and any tongue hath rejoiced: moreover my flesh also shall rest in hope.
26FR: C’est pour cela que mon cœur s’est réjoui, et que ma langue a été dans l’allégresse, et qu’aussi même ma chair reposera dans l’espérance :
27EN: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, nor suffer thy Holy One to see corruption.
27FR: parce que vous n’abandonnerez pas mon âme dans le séjour des morts, et vous ne permettrez pas que votre Saint voie la décomposition.
28EN: Thou hast made known to me the ways of life: thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
28FR: Vous m’avez fait connaître les chemins de la vie ; vous me remplirez de joie par (la vue de) votre face.
29EN: Ye men, brethren, let me freely speak to you of the patriarch David; that he died, and was buried; and his sepulchre is with us to this present day.
29FR: Mes frères, il est permis de vous dire avec assurance du patriarche David, qu’il est mort, qu’il a été enterré et que son tombeau est encore aujourd’hui parmi nous.
30EN: Whereas therefore he was a prophet, and knew that God hath sworn to him with an oath, that of the fruit of his loins one should sit upon his throne.
30FR: Comme donc il était prophète et savait que Dieu lui avait juré par serment de faire asseoir sur son trône un fils de son sang,
31EN: Foreseeing this, he spoke of the resurrection of Christ. For neither was he left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption.
31FR: voyant d’avance, il a parlé de la résurrection du Christ, (disant) et qu’il n’a pas été abandonné dans le séjour des morts, et que sa chair n’a pas vu la décomposition.
32EN: This Jesus hath God raised again, whereof all we are witnesses.
32FR: C’est ce Jésus que Dieu a ressuscité : nous en sommes tous témoins.
33EN: Being exalted therefore by the right hand of God, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath poured forth this which you see and hear.
33FR: Ayant donc été élevé par la droite de Dieu et ayant reçu du Père l’Esprit-Saint promis, il a répandu ce que vous voyez et entendez.
34EN: For David ascended not into heaven; but he himself said: The Lord said to my Lord, sit thou on my right hand,
34FR: Car, David n’est pas monté aux cieux, mais il dit lui-même : Le Seigneur a dit à mon Seigneur : Asseyez-vous à ma droite,
35EN: Until I make thy enemies thy footstool.
35FR: jusqu’à ce que j’aie fait de vos ennemis un escabeau pour vos pieds.
36EN: Therefore let all the house of Israel know most certainly, that God hath made both Lord and Christ, this same Jesus, whom you have crucified.
36FR: Que toute la maison d’Israël sache donc avec certitude que Dieu l’a fait et Seigneur et Christ, ce Jésus que vous avez crucifié. »
37EN: Now when they had heard these things, they had compunction in their heart, and said to Peter, and to the rest of the apostles: What shall we do, men and brethren?
37FR: Or, en entendant (cela), ils eurent le cœur transpercé, et ils dirent à Pierre et aux autres apôtres : « Frères, que ferons-nous ? »
38EN: But Peter said to them: Do penance, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
38FR: Pierre leur dit : « Repentez-vous, et que chacun de vous soit baptisé au nom de Jésus-Christ pour la rémission de vos péchés, et vous recevrez le don du Saint-Esprit,
39EN: For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all that are far off, whomsoever the Lord our God shall call.
39FR: car la promesse est pour vous, et pour vos enfants, et pour tous ceux qui sont au loin, autant qu’en appellera le Seigneur notre Dieu. »
40EN: And with very many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying: Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
40FR: Et avec force autres paroles il donna son témoignage ; et il les exhortait en disant : « Sauvez-vous de cette génération perverse ! »
41EN: They therefore that received his word, were baptized; and there were added in that day about three thousand souls.
41FR: Eux donc, ayant accueilli sa parole, furent baptisés ; et ce jour-là s’adjoignirent environ trois mille personnes.
42EN: And they were persevering in the doctrine of the apostles, and in the communication of the breaking of bread, and in prayers.
42FR: Et ils étaient assidus à l’enseignement des apôtres et aux réunions communes, à la fraction du pain et aux prières.
43EN: And fear came upon every soul: many wonders also and signs were done by the apostles in Jerusalem, and there was great fear in all.
43FR: Or la crainte était dans toutes les âmes, et beaucoup de prodiges et de miracles se faisaient par les apôtres.
44EN: And all they that believed, were together, and had all things common.
44FR: Tous ceux qui croyaient vivaient ensemble, et ils avaient tout en commun ;
45EN: Their possessions and goods they sold, and divided them to all, according as every one had need.
45FR: ils vendaient leurs terres et leurs biens, et ils en partageaient (le produit) entre tous, selon les besoins de chacun.
46EN: And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they took their meat with gladness and simplicity of heart;
46FR: Chaque jour, d’un même cœur, assidus au temple, et rompant le pain à la maison, ils prenaient leur nourriture avec joie et simplicité de cœur,
47EN: Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord increased daily together such as should be saved.
47FR: louant Dieu et ayant la faveur de tout le peuple. Et le Seigneur adjoignait chaque jour à la masse ceux qui étaient sauvés.
