1EN: I charge thee, before God and Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, by his coming, and his kingdom:
1FR: Je t'adjure devant Dieu et le Christ Jésus, qui doit juger les vivants et les morts, et par son apparition et par son règne :
2EN: Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine.
2FR: prêche la parole, insiste à temps et à contretemps, reprends, censure, exhorte, avec une entière patience et (souci d')instruction.
3EN: For there shall be a time, when they will not endure sound doctrine; but, according to their own desires, they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears:
3FR: Car un temps viendra où (les hommes) ne supporteront pas la saine doctrine, mais au gré de leurs désirs se donneront une foule de maîtres, l'oreille leur démangeant,
4EN: And will indeed turn away their hearing from the truth, but will be turned unto fables.
4FR: et ils détourneront l'oreille de la vérité pour se tourner vers les fables.
5EN: But be thou vigilant, labour in all things, do the work of an evangelist, fulfil thy ministry. Be sober.
5FR: Pour toi, sois sobre en toutes choses, endure la souffrance, fais œuvre de prédicateur de l'Évangile, remplis pleinement ton ministère.
6EN: For I am even now ready to be sacrificed: and the time of my dissolution is at hand.
6FR: Quant à moi, je suis déjà offert en sacrifice, et le moment de mon départ approche.
7EN: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
7FR: J'ai combattu le bon combat, j'ai achevé la course, j'ai gardé la foi :
8EN: As to the rest, there is laid up for me a crown of justice, which the Lord the just judge will render to me in that day: and not only to me, but to them also that love his coming. Make haste to come to me quickly.
8FR: désormais m'est réservée la couronne de la justice, que m'accordera en ce jour-là le Seigneur, le juste Juge, et non seulement à moi, mais à tous ceux qui auront chéri son apparition.
9EN: For Demas hath left me, loving this world, and is gone to Thessalonica:
9FR: Hâte-toi de venir à moi au plus tôt.
10EN: Crescens into Galatia, Titus into Dalmatia.
10FR: Démas, en effet, m'a abandonné par amour pour le siècle présent, et il est parti pour Thessalonique, Crescent pour la Galatie, Tite pour la Dalmatie.
11EN: Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with thee: for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
11FR: Luc seul est avec moi. Prends Marc et amène-le avec toi car il m'est d'un grand secours pour le ministère.
12EN: But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
12FR: J'ai envoyé Tychique à Ephèse.
13EN: The cloak that I left at Troas, with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, especially the parchments.
13FR: Le sac que j'ai laissé à Troas chez Carpus, apporte-le en venant, ainsi que les livres, surtout les parchemins.
14EN: Alexander the coppersmith hath done me much evil: the Lord will reward him according to his works:
14FR: Alexandre le forgeron m'a fait bien du mal : le Seigneur lui rendra selon ses œuvres.
15EN: Whom do thou also avoid, for he hath greatly withstood our words.
15FR: Toi aussi, tiens-toi en garde contre lui, car il a fait une forte opposition à nos paroles.
16EN: At my first answer no man stood with me, but all forsook me: may it not be laid to their charge.
16FR: Dans ma première défense, personne ne m'a assisté ; tous m'ont abandonné : qu'il ne leur en soit pas tenu compte !
17EN: But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that by me the preaching may be accomplished, and that all the Gentiles may hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
17FR: Le Seigneur, lui, m'a assisté et m'a fortifié afin que, par moi, la prédication fût pleinement donnée et que toutes les nations l'entendissent, et j'ai été sauvé de la gueule du lion.
18EN: The Lord hath delivered me from every evil work: and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
18FR: Le Seigneur me sauvera de toute œuvre mauvaise, et il (me) conservera pour son royaume céleste. A lui la gloire pour les siècles des siècles ! Amen !

21EN: Make haste to come before winter Eubulus and Pudens, and Linus and Claudia, and all the brethren, salute thee.
21FR: Hâte-toi de venir avant l'hiver. Eubule, Pudens, Linus, Claudia et tous les frères te saluent.
22EN: The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.
